Forequarter System
SCOTT forequarter system incorporates a 3D vision camera, which scans each forequarter, creating a virtual model, from which the optimal cut locations are calculated. The 3D data is used to guide a robotic arm, which holds the forequarter, whilst passing it through a bandsaw to make the required cuts. The forequarter products are then transferred to a conveyor belt for further processing and packing.
The Forequarter system can be customised to meet a wide range of operational requirements such as carcass sizes, cut specifications, throughputs and room layouts. SCOTT Forequarter systems can improve, yield by approximately 5 grams per carcass, increase safety and throughput, boost labour efficiency and reduce the risk of contamination.
Robotic Cutting
The Automated Boning Room Systems use ‘intelligent management’ in the form of robotic sensing and cutting, to optimise cut selection for each carcass. Robotic sensing enables highly accurate and cleaner cuts, with reduced waste.
Benefits:
- Yield Improvements
- Increased Throughput
- Labour Efficiency and Safety
- Food Safety
- High Cut Accuracy
Robotic Forequarter Sani Vac
The Robotic Forequarter Sani Vac by SCOTT is an automatic steam vacuum, which replaces manual leg, neck, and brisket steam meat sanitisation processes to loosen soil, kill bacteria and remove contaminants.
The system is configurable in design to meet individual plant processing, line and floor-plan requirements. Installation of a Robotic Forequarter Sani Vac System offers a payback of less than 1.5 years, inclusive of labour savings, operating costs, OH&S and other benefits.
Benefits:
- Labour saving of 1 operator per working shift
- Line Speed – can operate at +10/min
- Species – Lamb, Sheep & Goat Processing
- OH&S – reduced injuries and accidents
- Productivity/Efficiencies – Improved process with consistent and repeatable operations
- Yield Gain – reduced trimming & rework
- Hygiene – reduced contamination compared to manual operations (proven)
Beef Hock Cutter
The Robotic Beef Hock/Hoof Cutter replaces manual hock cutting operations for beef processing. This beef processing solution uses a robot with integrated sensing, to profile, detect and accurately cut the hocks.
Benefits:
- Labour saving of 1-2 operator per working shift
- Line Speed – 210 head/hour "continuous line"
- Species – Lamb, Sheep & Goat Processing
- OH&S – reduced injuries and accidents
- Productivity – consistent and repeatable operations with reduced rework
- Efficiencies – minimise waste & flexibility to change cut specifications on requests
- Increased Yield – accurate cuts referencing dew claws allow for better tendon recovery
- Hygiene – reduced contamination compared to manual operations
